Holiday Shopping

Sooo how many of you participated in Black Friday? My friend Shelley told me that she was going to Khol's at 4:00 in the morning to shop. WTF!! That is sooo crazy to me. Do you really save that much money by shopping that early? I heard that people get really vicious out there. See, it definitely wouldn't be good for me cause I would be in a bad mood the whole time.. Any who, I think I am officially going to start my shopping today.




Nothing too exciting is going on while on Sabbatical... But I am enjoying spending time with the kids. Except for when they are running around, fighting with each other, making a mess of everything! That's when "Calgon take me away" comes into play. But hey, what can you do?

Halloween Party Pics

So here are just a few pics from the Halloween Party. I have loads more on my computer but this will do for now. The kids had sooo much fun!
We had a few games for the kids to play. One was tossing balls through the Pumpkin mouth. The other was bobbing for apples. The kids seemed to like the bobbing for apples game better than the other. The adults had fun with it as well. We tried to get a conga line going but not many were interested. We still tried but the kids ending up getting goofy and the line never really took off. We had fun none the less. Tina got a prize for best costume. She was Cat In The Hat. She looked awesome.

I was not to enthused about the clean up after, but Tina stayed behind and helped clean up. I was soo tired that I could have left it for the next morning, but was glad that Tina stayed behind because it forced me to clean. I was soo tired the next day but it was worth it!

I will definitely do it again next year.

Officially On Sabbatical

Welp, today is Saturday and I am officially on Sabbatical. I don't think it has quite set in yet. It was pretty odd leaving work yesterday. It first started off with me walking in and my desk was decorated all pretty!! On my desk was a treasure map. In order to get my goodies I had to follow the treasure map. The treasure hunt officially started at 11:00 am. So at 11:00 I got up and started on my journey. Found lots of wonderful little gifts and than Voila.. my big basket.. It was soo much fun. Tina did a great job, as well as everyone else. At noon a handful of people took me out to lunch at Vito's. Yummy Pizza.. I love that place.
After lunch, I got a call from the receptionist that I had a delivery down stairs. I got flowers from my Field Sales Rep, Natalie. She is soo awesome.. She really does take care of me. Well can't remember much after that as time flew... I felt like I had soo much to do and not enough time to do it. Especially when your manager is practically kicking you out! HA!! wait, hope that's not a sign. LOL.

It probably won't hit me until Sunday when I realise that I don't have to go to bed early cause I don't have to work the next day. Well I will still have to work as I have the little rug rats to take to school. Tony is off on Monday so maybe I will have him take them so that I can try to sleep in.. Oh wait, either way I have to get up as I am meeting Lana for coffee.. Yay, Lan the nail lady.. Oh how I miss her.. LOL

Did I also mention that today is our Halloween Party? I have lots to do today. I am just waiting for Tina and Blynn to come by so we can decorate the kitchen and set the table up. Tony is going to work on the cemetery for the side of the house. I have been asking him for about 2 wks and now we are on the actual day, and it's still not done. umm yeah, don't get me started on that..

I will make sure to take lots of pictures and post them tomorrow, or maybe next week, or the week after.. After all, I'm on SABBATICAL!!!

Halloween

So I am not sure who knows or not... but I Y Halloween. I think because it's kicks off one of my favorite times of year, "FALL". This year we have decided to have a Halloween Party. I am soo excited. I have already begun to shop for decorations. I will have loads of help as I am throwing it with my husbands -stepbrothers-step mom. LOL, were you able to follow?

I am working on the invitations right now and will have them all printed and ready to be mailed out tomorrow. I am soo excited!!

We decided that the first half of the party will be family orientated. The second half will be for adults. We will have lots of treats and games for the kids. And treats for the adults too!

Oh and did I mention that it will be a costume party? I can't wait to see every ones costumes. Did I mention already how excited I am?

My wonderful friend Tina will be our bartender for the night. She will be awesome considering she has done bar tending professionally before.

The only thing that I am concerned with is that I have a small house, so I will have to move around my furniture to fit everyone in. It should be fine. We will utilize my kitchen, living room and the side of my casa.

I can't wait... I will definitely be posting pictures of the party. Stay tuned for that.

A Day to Relax?

It's about 11:26 am as I write this and I was suppose to wake up Big Tone at 11:00. He is sooo tired as he worked all night, so I'm letting him sleep a little longer. He usually doesn't get up until 2:00 however we are having friends over today and we have to pay a visit to Costco for last minute items. And I'm sure he is going to try and convince me that he "NEEDS" an IPOD. I don't mind that he buys one, however he is just doing it because someone at his work has one and brings it into work and plays it for everyone. Which half of them can't stand the music he plays. All this coming from a guy who never wanted an Ipod, and now because of a co-worker, he just has to have one. Oh and not to mention the speaker system that you can get for it. I tell ya, when Tone buys something, he doesn't skimp. HA!

Sooo I already know that on the day I would like to relax, it will turn out busy! Well I wish everyone a Happy, Fun, Loving, Relaxing day! I'm off to whoop some kid butt as they are tearing up my house.. and off to wake up my sexy hubby!

Counting down the days

So I've been really nervous regarding my Sabbatical at work. I've seen many times where people were planning to go out on their sabbatical and without warning suddenly get laid off, or asked to push the date out. Well with all that has been happening at work, I was worried, that is until I received my package with my sabbatical shirt, duffel bag and key thing-a-ma-bob. Yeah, yeah, I realize at any point it can change but for the time being I am basking in the glory of my "Sabbatical".

For those of you who do not know what a Sabbatical is... It is a program offered by my company as a way to say thank you for your hard work and the commitment of hanging in there with us. So for every 7 years you are rewarded a "Sabbatical". What comes with this sabbatical you ask? Well it's simple.. 10 weeks off of work, paid! Yep, you heard that right, PAID. Well that is if you are an exempt employee (salary wage). Those who are non-exempt (hourly) get a shorter time allotted to them. But hey, either way, you can't complain! Soooo... You're probably wondering, when do you take your Sabbatical? My last Friday at work is October 26th and it can't come any sooner.

I am so looking forward to the time off. Mental Rehab as I like to think of it. This time off I plan to focus on me. Yeah the family will get my attention as well, but most of it will be me time. I have lots of things I want to get sorted out in my life and living healthier is one of them.

So the count down has officially started and I am thrilled.
